On Mercury retrograde and Venus in Scorpio in Dexter and Nip/Tuck.
I’m impressed with semi-professional use of topic of astrology in some American TV series

#1# season 8 of Dexter premiere episode:

Dexter episode 801 - Deputy Matthew talks to Dexter Morgan about mercury Retrograde

Dexter episode 801 – Deputy Matthew talks to Dexter Morgan about mercury Retrograde

Dexter Morgan talking with Deputy Chief of Miami Metro, T. Metthews about dr. Evelyn Vogel:
Dextrer: ‘Why d’you think she call now, like you said, out of the blue?’
Deputy Chief T. Metthews ‘Maybe the stars align… Maybe Mercury is in retrograde… I don’t really care the reason why she called.’

#2# In “Nip/Tuck” (I don’t recall in which series or episode):

NipTuck_Kimberly

Seductive Kimber and doctor Sean McNamara after a bed scene:
Kimber: ‘Your Venus must be in Scorpio.
Sean: ‘You think so, huh?’
Kimber: ‘Yeah, I’d bet money on it.

But in reality none of the two doctors from the main cast with whom Kimber did sleep in the series has his Venus in any way connected with Scorpio.
One of them has Sun in Scorpio (time of birth unknown) (see: Astrotheme page),
The other – has a Libra rising (see his chart at AstroDataBank)

It’s very beginner’s level of astrology, but at least it’s not random or BS. (clearly the sript-writers mingled with something more than a sun signs)
